In early 1984, John Lennon's posthumous single "Nobody Told Me," a quirky take on the insanity of life that he was ironically working on when he was murdered, peaked at number five on the charts. Not bad for an unfinished song still in demo form, eh? Maybe. But for the flawed timing of its release, however, it most certainly would have charted even higher. At that particular moment in pop history, Van Halen's monster hit "Jump" was sitting on top and keeping all competitors at bay.

Through the lens of 20 years' hindsight though, which one do you believe is the better song? We all know which one I would choose. But you, yes you. Out there in la la land. I'm all about free will, honesty, and freedom of speech, so don't be afraid. Play both of them in your mind and carefully consider the pros and cons of each. Take a moment of silence and look deep into your heart. Consult others if necessary and then put everything together to formulate a logical argument for your decision.

After all that, if you can still say that Van Halen is better, then you can go ahead and jump off a goddamn building.
